This privacy policy governs your use of this website, the Android app ("Fijian History") that was developed by the staff and students of The University of the South Pacific and the iOS App ("Fijian History") that was developed by Crafty Apps Pte Ltd. The mobile app is designed as an open-licensed app to provide historical information about Fiji at no cost to members of the public. The Fijian History App has the following features:

  • Map displays a selection of historic sites and buildings in the Fiji Islands.
  • You will be able to search for particular sites/buildings to read historical information about that location, view photographs, and listen to audio recordings.
  • The App will enable you to navigate to a particular site/building from your current location via Google Maps.
  • The App works offline after the first download, however, the latest collections are only accessible when online.

Information Collection and Use for Android Users

For a better experience, while using the app, we may ask for your permission to share your app usage data with us.

The usage data is only collected if you give us permission to do so.

We use Google's Firebase Analytics to collect your usage data.

Note:

We do not collect any personal information and or any advertising id that may be associated with your devices.

The app uses Google's Firebase Analytics to collect information about the following user actions in the app:

  • Opening the app
  • Navigating to Explore Page
  • Navigating to Maps View Page
  • Opening the Search Page
  • Viewing a collection
  • Adding a collection to their favorites
  • Sharing a collection
  • Using the Directions Button in a collection
  • Contacting Us
  • Viewing the About Us Page

Information Collection and Use for iOS Users

We do not collect any personal information about our iOS users. The iOS app also does not use any form of analytics. If you mark a collection as a favorite on your device, it is available as a favorite only on that device.
